La passione per la pittura ha sempre fatto parte della mia vita.
Quando ero bambina ero molto timida e parlavo pochissimo ma amavo molto disegnare; era un modo di esprimermi ed anche di essere in contatto con mio padre che dipingeva nei momenti liberi e che era anche lui estremamente taciturno.
La vita mi ha portato a fare altro per lunghi periodi, ma non ho mai abbandonato il contatto con il disegno che si è trasformato in passione per la pittura.
Cerco di rappresentare nei miei quadri la difficoltà di comunicare, l’oscillare tra i due poli della solitudine e della relazione: separazioni, avvicinamenti, il timore di superare la distanza.
Ma lavoro anche sul rapporto tra soggetto e confini della tela, quindi sul concetto di limite. Nel senso che l’oggetto rappresentato a volte è circondato dal vuoto, quindi ha a disposizione un’area di movimento ampia, mentre altre volte è costretto, limitato dallo spazio della tela. Il limite è un concetto per me molto interessante da esplorare. Se troppo vicino ostacola i movimenti ma se è troppo ampio ci si può perdere.
Dal punto di vista tecnico, dipingo volutamente senza rilievo, e, al di là del soggetto scelto, per me sono molto importanti i colori e il loro rapporto.

A passion for painting has always been part of my life. As a child I was shy and therefore reserved. Drawing gave me the opportunity to express myself and overcome these traits. However, more than anything else, it allowed me to connect with a taciturn father who found pleasure in painting. Most of my working life led me down other paths but drawing remained a part of me and was the spark which ignited my passion for painting.
My paintings deal with the complexity of communication and the challenge of swaying between the opposite poles of solitude and relationships: separations, approaches and the fear of overcoming distance.
My work also explores the relationship between subject and the boundaries of the canvas and therefore the concept of limit.
This means the subject is sometimes surrounded by a void, providing a wide area for movement, and at others it is constricted by the space available on the canvas. I am personally fascinated by the idea of confines. If they are too narrow movement is hindered but it is easy to lose yourself if they are too wide.
Regardless of the subject chosen, I intentionally paint without relief, enormously attracted by colors and the relationship between them. Figures and space form a unique context in which the distance between background and foreground disappears even though contour lines are well defined
